Job summary

RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, is seeking a Principal Should Cost Engineer to design and operationalize a cost transparency capability for sourcing negotiations across RTX products. Remote work option in the US.

You will lead cost modeling using aPriori and regression tools, translate engineering drawings into costed elements, develop cost drivers, and calibrate models. Travel may be required to support supplier engagements.

Qualifications

• Must have cost engineering experience or design-to-cost experience.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost modeling and benchmarking across assemblies and parts.
• Utilize aPriori and regression models for should-cost work.
• Convert drawings/models into costed elements (material, labor, OH, tooling, logistics).
• Develop and maintain cost rollups and drivers for negotiations.
• Create cost driver logic and forward-looking models where software is unavailable.
• Validate and calibrate models regularly and train users.
