RTX is seeking a Senior Principal Should Cost Engineer to design, build, and operationalize a should-cost capability for cost transparency across sourcing. You will lead cost modeling for complex assemblies and work with aPriori and regression models while supporting supplier negotiations.

The role emphasizes translating engineering drawings into costed elements, developing cost drivers, and training users. Occasional travel is possible, with remote work enabled for US-based candidates.

Qualifikationen

• STEM degree with 10+ years experience, or advanced degree with 7+ years, or 14 years if no degree.
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for engineering drawings.
• Costing or design-to-cost experience.
• Experience with should-cost tools such as aPriori.

Aufgaben

• Lead cost modeling and benchmarking for complex assemblies and parts.
• Develop should cost models for electronics, plastics, composites, and supplier-designed equipment.
• Translate drawings into costed elements: material, labor, OH, tooling, logistics.
• Maintain cost roll-ups and drivers to support negotiations.
• Create cost assumptions and driver logic.
• Use historical data to forecast when software isn’t available.
• Validate and calibrate models at defined intervals.
• Train new users and contribute to standard work updates.
