Job summary

Cherry Creek Schools is seeking a Severe Needs Para Educator to assist students with severe special education needs under licensed supervision. You will support curriculum delivery, skill development, behavior strategies, and assignment completion, and prepare instructional materials while monitoring progress and maintaining records.

In remote settings, you will assist with technology access and executive functioning strategies.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma
• No professional work experience required
• Title I assignments must meet one of the following: two years of college, associate’s or higher degree, or equivalent knowledge in reading/writing/mathematics
• Mandatory Crisis Prevention Intervention training
• Medication administration training as needed
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Intermediate verbal and written communication skills
• Intermediate interpersonal relations skills
• Intermediate organizational skills
• Ability to work one-on-one and in small groups with students
• Ability to understand impacts of hearing loss in DHH program
• Ability to set boundaries and work in Homebound environments

Responsibilities

• Assist students with classroom activities and adapt curriculum for individual needs (35%).
• Implement student accommodations and maintain progress records (30%).
• Assist with materials, tests, attendance and related paperwork (5%).
• Perform other duties as assigned (5%).
• Online/remote duty: support online classes and technology troubleshooting (50% total).
• Prepare home assignments and monitor completion (35%).
• Maintain records with licensed staff (5%).
• Support students with technology issues (5%).
• Total online/remote tasks total 100%.
