Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Lead Developer to steer the design, development, integration, and enhancement of enterprise ServiceNow solutions. The role provides technical leadership to development teams and ensures platform best practices across ITSM, CMDB, CSDM, ITOM, HRSD, and more.

You will mentor developers, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive upgrades, release management, and ATF implementation to deliver scalable, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years hands-on ServiceNow development and administration.
• 2+ years leading ServiceNow development teams or projects.
• Strong expertise in JavaScript, Glide API, Service Portal, Flow Designer, and Integration Hub.
• Proven experience with ITSM, CMDB, and CSDM.
• Hands-on experience with at least two additional ServiceNow modules such as ITOM, ITAM/HAM, CSM, HRSD, SPM, or SecOps.
• Experience designing and implementing REST/SOAP integrations and MID Server configurations.

Responsibilities

• Lead ServiceNow development activities, including design reviews, code reviews, and deployment planning.
• Design and develop solutions leveraging ServiceNow platform capabilities across ITSM, CMDB, CSDM, ITOM, ITAM/HAM, CSM, and HRSD.
• Develop and optimize Client Scripts, Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Policies, and Flow Designer workflows.
• Architect and implement integrations using Integration Hub, REST APIs, SOAP services, and MID Servers.
• Establish and maintain CMDB governance, Discovery schedules, data reconciliation rules, and CSDM alignment.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and product owners to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Support platform upgrades, release management activities, and ATF implementation.
• Provide technical mentoring and guidance to developers, administrators, and support teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Ensure adherence to ServiceNow development standards and best practices.
