Job summary

VetsEZ is seeking a Senior VistA System Administrator to support a VA government IT contract. You will lead VistA system administration, configure, customize, patch, maintain, audit, and support VistA systems used by VA staff, working with other technical engineers in a SAFe/Agile framework.

Responsibilities include leading a team, planning operations, installing patches, auditing access, and developing technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; eight years of additional experience may substitute.
• 5+ years of experience in VistA systems or government IT environments.
• Experience leading teams of system administrators and prioritizing critical issues.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.
• Experience with SAFe/Agile practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of VistA system administrators responsible for debugging and problem resolution, prioritizing work, identifying high-risk critical problems, and dedicating appropriate resources.
• Create plans to ensure effective management, operations, and maintenance of VistA systems.
• Configure, customize, and maintain VistA systems to meet project and client requirements.
• Install and test nationally released VA VistA patches, ensuring system integrity and functionality.
• Conduct audits of installed patches and of user and service accounts.
• Manage and administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Provide direct support to users, troubleshoot issues, and resolve VistA-related problems promptly.
• Monitor system performance, including high-volume/high-availability systems, and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with other IT engineers to ensure system compatibility and performance.
• Participate in SAFe/Agile ceremonies and support agile development processes.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation related to system configurations, patch management, and user support.
