Job summary

VetsEZ in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior VistA System Administrator to lead VistA system administration for a VA government IT contract. You will configure, patch, maintain, audit, and support VistA systems used by VA staff, working in an Agile/SAFe environment with other engineers.

Responsibilities include leading a team, planning operations, installing VA patches, auditing accounts, and developing technical documentation. A public trust clearance is required or to be obtained.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or related field; eight years experience may substitute.
• 5+ years of experience in VistA system administration or government IT environments.
• Hands-on experience configuring and patching VistA systems.
• Experience leading teams of system administrators and prioritizing critical problems.
• Working knowledge of SAFe/Agile methodologies.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Strong collaboration and communication with users and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of VistA system administrators to debug and resolve issues.
• Develop plans for VistA system operations and maintenance.
• Configure, customize, patch, and maintain VistA systems per requirements.
• Install and test VA VistA patches and verify integrity.
• Audit patches and manage user accounts and access controls.
• Provide user support and troubleshoot VistA-related problems.
• Monitor performance of high-volume/high-availability systems and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with IT engineers to ensure compatibility and performance.
• Participate in SAFe/Agile ceremonies.
• Develop and maintain technical docs on configurations and patch management.
