Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Game Developer specializing in Unreal Engine. This fully remote role requires designing, implementing, and optimizing core gameplay mechanics using UE4/UE5 and C++.

You will collaborate with designers, artists, and programmers in an agile environment. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of game development experience, deep knowledge of UE subsystems (Blueprints, UMG, AI, Physics), and a portfolio of Unreal projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in professional game development, 3+ years in Unreal Engine.
• Strong C++ skills and OO design.
• Experience with UE4/UE5 subsystems (Blueprints, UMG, AI, Physics).
• Experience in performance optimization and debugging on PC/console.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement gameplay systems using Unreal Engine and C++.
• Collaborate with designers and artists to translate concepts into gameplay.
• Write clean, maintainable C++ code following coding standards.
• Optimize performance across platforms focusing on frame rate and memory.
• Debug and resolve complex technical issues.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and solutions.
• Mentor junior programmers and share knowledge.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback.
• Stay updated with Unreal Engine advancements and doc features.
