Job summary

Fawkes Games Ltd is seeking a Senior Unreal Engineer (Contractor) to design, implement, and optimize immersive experiences using Unreal Engine. You will work with designers, artists, and engineers, leading technical efforts and mentoring teammates.

A strong background in C++, Blueprint, shaders, and real-time rendering is essential. You will diagnose performance issues, contribute to toolchains, and help plan milestones for a 12-month engagement with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years hands-on experience developing with Unreal Engine.
• Expert proficiency in C++ programming and deep understanding of Unreal Engine architecture.
• Solid experience with Unreal Engine Blueprints, shader development, and real-time rendering.
• Demonstrated ability to debug, optimize, and refine complex systems in a live project environment.
• Proven experience working in contract or freelance roles with a track record of delivering successful projects.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain complex systems and gameplay mechanics using Unreal Engine.
• Utilize both C++ and Blueprint scripting to implement features and optimize performance.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members and other contractors.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues to improve performance and stability.
• Contribute to project planning, technical design discussions, and deliver high-quality code on time.
• Stay updated on Unreal Engine developments and industry best practices, and propose new tools and workflows.
