Job summary

Vertiv in Ohio is seeking a Technical Sales Sr. Engineer – AC Power to support selling efforts for 3-Phase AC Power products. Remote role, you will address technical questions during sales engagements, set customer expectations, and advise on new projects and initiatives.

You will review RFPs, assist with bid forms, design reviews, and collaborate with engineers, contractors and sales teams to grow revenue; travel 25-50% domestically as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• 4–8 years of industry sales experience.
• Technical knowledge of three-phase products and applications.
• Industry knowledge and market dynamics.
• Experience with large RFQs and Ohm's law / three-phase power calculations.
• Ability to build relationships across departments.
• Able to handle objections and communicate to varied audiences.
• Capable of meeting quota in measured categories.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical review and response to RFPs for Vertiv 3-Phase AC Power opportunities.
• Supports driving sales growth.
• Provides technical support for key accounts including architecture, product ratings, battery sizing, single-line diagrams, and design reviews.
• Supports budgeting and spec development to maximize success rates.
• Coordinates with key accounts with engineers/contractors.
• Represents the company at customer visits.
• Travel 25-50% domestically to support key accounts.
• Participates in account planning and engagement strategies.
• Supports technical proposals and design documentation.
• Provides sales staff with technical assistance for customer-facing presentations.
• Participates in new product development and product feedback.
• Acts as a mentor to less experienced team members.
