Job summary

Christianson PLLP is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to support tax compliance, research laws, and optimize client tax strategies. You will oversee complex returns, mentor staff, and maintain client relationships while staying current with tax regulation updates.

The role includes research memos, tax planning, and participation in business development. Remote work is available nationwide with preference for Midwest proximity for occasional meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA or EA certification preferred or pursuing.
• 2+ years of public accounting experience.
• Expertise in technical research and writing.
• Strong leadership and mentoring experience under tight deadlines.
• Excellent client service and relationship management skills.
• Strong problem solving, analytical, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Review tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships with staff and supervisors.
• Assist with client engagements across the firm.
• Research tax issues and prepare memos for partner/client/IRS reviews.
• Optimize clients’ tax liability and reporting of credits.
• Mentor staff and provide technical guidance and training.
• Develop and monitor tax quality control policies and procedures.
• Prepare complex individual, corporate, and partnership returns.
• Create and deliver tax presentations to stakeholders.
• Support business development and client relationship cultivation.
