Job summary

Christianson PLLP is seeking a detail-oriented Tax & Research Supervisor to join our firm. You will oversee the preparation and review of complex returns, conduct in-depth tax research, and develop strategies to optimize client liabilities while mentoring staff.

This remote-friendly role supports client engagements nationwide with preference for applicants in the Midwest for occasional in-person meetings. Strong leadership and communication are essential to drive quality and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• CPA or EA certification preferred or pursuing.
• 4+ years of public accounting experience.
• Expertise in technical research and writing.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills under tight deadlines or complex situations.
• Exceptional client service and relationship management skills with effective, professional communication.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, critical thinking skills, and attention to detail.
• Can work independently but also work effectively with a team.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Review complex individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
• Lead client engagements across the firm.
• Electronically research tax issues and prepare position memos.
• Optimize clients’ tax liability and reporting.
• Maintain knowledge of tax code changes and accounting procedures.
• Mentor staff and provide technical guidance.
• Assist in developing and monitoring tax quality control policies.
• Prepare more complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships.
• Create and deliver tax presentations to partners, clients, and staff.
• Brief tax and A&A staff on new tax issues.
• Develop business through client relationships.
