Orbital Engineering Inc. is seeking a Senior Substation Protection & Controls Engineer for remote work within the United States. The role focuses on high voltage substation projects up to 500 kV, requiring strong design and leadership capabilities and PE preference.

The engineer will deliver complete protection and control engineering packages, lead teams, and interface with utilities and clients, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and project schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 7 years of protection and control design experience.
• PE license required or candidates with PE preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with remote teams.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation and related CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design for high voltage substation projects up to 500 kV.
• Develop design packages including single lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, and station service diagrams.
• Support pre-bid activities and prepare proposals and estimates.
• Lead junior staff and manage project tasks with remote teams.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, NEMA, ANSI, IEEE standards.
