Job summary

Cribl is seeking a senior AI Systems engineer to design, build, and operate scalable backend services powering AI inference across Cribl's product suite. You will work at the intersection of distributed systems and AI infrastructure, influencing architecture and delivery.

In this role you will drive model routing, MCP integrations, and AI observability, collaborating closely with Research and Product teams while mentoring engineers in a fast-growing, remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; 7+ years software engineering.
• Experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems or cloud-native infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or TypeScript.
• Experience with production AI/ML systems, including NLP or ML platforms.
• Experience with AI/ML infrastructure, model routing, MCP, or evaluation frameworks.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, API design, and production observability.
• Ability to drive technical initiatives and collaborate with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Prototype and productionize new AI capabilities with Product and Research.
• Design and operate scalable backend services for AI workloads.
• Develop model routing and inference infrastructure across providers.
• Build agentic AI apps with MCP integrations and tool connections.
• Maintain AI observability, benchmarks, and production reliability.
• Lead technical reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Participate in on-call rotations and ensure reliability.
