Job summary

Cribl, Inc. is seeking a Staff AI Security Engineer to design and operationalize security frameworks for Cribl’s AI systems. This role enables rapid AI adoption with governance, guardrails, and scalable controls across internal workflows.

You will partner with Security, IT, Product, and Engineering to implement threat models, token management, and compliance readiness, delivering secure access and policy-driven patterns while supporting a remote-first, globally distributed team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in security engineering roles with practical controls.
• Strong hands-on with LLMs and agentic systems, threat models for prompt injection.
• Experience with OAuth, service identities, secrets management, and scoped permissions.
• Ability to design risk-tiered controls balancing innovation and compliance.
• Experience operationalizing telemetry, detections, and incident response.
• Familiarity with enterprise AI governance expectations (NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, SOC2, GDPR).
• Excellent written and verbal communication across stakeholders.
• Ambiguity energizes you and you can build guardrails and playbooks from scratch.
• You care about reducing risk while enabling AI adoption.

Responsibilities

• Define and threat model security architecture for Cribl’s internal AI platform.
• Develop guardrails for prompt injection defense and safe execution controls.
• Lead MCP security and registry management across teams.
• Oversee secrets management, non-human identities, and least-privilege access.
• Build telemetry, detections, and incident response patterns for AI security events.
• Collaborate with Compliance to meet AI-related obligations and customer trust.
