Job summary

SMX is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect for the Department of War initiatives. You will lead architecture, drive next‑gen solutions, and mentor delivery teams while coordinating with clients and stakeholders to ensure high-quality applications and user experiences.

You will guide requirements, architecture decisions, and project execution from design to delivery, leveraging cloud capabilities and modern IT practices to advance strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• Clearance required: Top Secret.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or commensurate experience.
• 10+ years in software solutions, architecture, or systems engineering.
• Experience as Solution Architect with full life-cycle customer implementations.
• Familiar with Agile, Waterfall, SAFe methodologies.
• Experience with DevSecOps and cloud operations (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and specification development for next generation solutions.
• Provide technical leadership to teammates and client service delivery.
• Assist in collection and documentation of requirements and timelines.
• Ensure project procedures and controls are identified and followed.
• Provide status updates on project progress, risks, and changes.
• Lead research and design activities for new software and tools.
