Job summary

SMX, a DoD-focused tech company, seeks a Senior Director, Department of War Solutions to drive the design and execution of innovative software efforts. You will lead architecture decisions, coordinate across teams, and ensure high-quality delivery for critical client engagements.

You will guide development, mentor staff, advance cloud operations (AWS, Azure, GCP), and shape go-to-market and proposals while aligning with SMX's strategic priorities and lifecycle processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• 10+ years in a corporate or government solutions environment.
• Experience as a Solution Architect with full life-cycle customer implementations.
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall or SAFe development methodologies.
• Strong architectural and implementation-level design skills.
• Experience in customer engagement and project leadership.
• Proficiency with DevSecOps and cloud operations (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise on customer engagements for complex solution architecting.
• Lead architecture and specification development for next-generation solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to teammates and client delivery.
• Develop go-to-market strategies for software applications and solutions.
• Assist in documenting requirements, timelines and work plans for project execution.
• Lead research and design activities in development and testing of new software.
• Lead and contribute to proposals and identify technical resource needs.
