Remote Senior Software Tester & QA Specialist

Job summary

SAIC is seeking a motivated Software Testing Principal for a 100% remote position. You will design and execute comprehensive test plans, write test cases, and lead verification efforts across software/IT systems, while communicating results and metrics to stakeholders.

The role requires extensive experience in manual and automated testing, Agile/SDLC familiarity, and strong problem-solving skills. US citizenship and clearance readiness are implied by the project scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years experience; Masters + 3+ years is also acceptable.
• Advanced certifications in testing or quality assurance (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE, CSQA) preferred.
• Proven track record on complex software projects with high-quality deliverables.
• Experience in both manual and automated testing.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and understanding of the SDLC.
• Edifecs certification and experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes test plans, test cases, and test procedures to meet standards and end-user requirements.
• Develops test plans, schedules, and approaches.
• Writes test cases/scripts and identifies data for test scenarios.
• Conducts walkthroughs with Test Managers and project leads.
• Performs and leads tests of software/IT systems for defects.
• Performs verification activities with defined methods and criteria.
• Documents and communicates test results.
• Supports analysis and resolution of issues.
• Creates daily test metrics and reporting.
• Occasionally performs other IT systems engineering activities.
