Job summary

WEX Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to join the EnCompass platform team. This role focuses on delivering customer-facing UI and robust APIs for Corporate Payments, including integrations for reseller partners.

You will build custom solutions, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive architectural decisions while ensuring high-quality, production-ready software across cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 3+ years with Relational Datastores (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Strong testing: unit, component, and integration tests; understanding of the test pyramid.
• Strong data security and compliance knowledge in cloud environments.
• Excellent leadership, team-building, and decision-making skills.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build custom solutions for partners based on roadmaps.
• Engage with internal stakeholders and external partners to demo solutions and articulate value.
• Define and implement an architectural roadmap for the EnCompass platform.
• Reduce time-to-market by applying efficient engineering methods.
• Help customers succeed in payments and card businesses via new features and support.
• Collaborate with team members to design, build, test, and deploy production-ready software.
• Take end-to-end technical responsibility from requirements to deployment and monitoring.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architectural decisions.
