Job summary

WEX is seeking a Software Engineer within the Corporate Payments Engineering organization. This role will drive the development and delivery of EnCompass platform applications for reseller partnerships, delivering sophisticated UIs, APIs, and integrations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of software engineering experience, 3+ years with relational databases, and a proven ability to deploy on AWS or Azure, while maintaining strong testing and security practices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• 3+ years with relational datastores (SQL)
• Experience deploying services on AWS or Azure
• Strong focus on automated testing (unit/integration) and test pyramid
• Knowledge of data security and compliance in cloud environments
• Excellent leadership and decision-making in a dynamic environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Build custom solutions for partners based on roadmap and partner needs
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to demonstrate solutions
• Define and implement a comprehensive architectural roadmap for EnCompass
• Reduce time-to-market through efficient engineering practices
• Deliver features that help customers succeed in payments and card businesses
• Collaborate across teams to design, build, test, and deploy production-grade software
• Take end-to-end ownership from requirements to deployment and monitoring
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architectural decisions
