Job summary

Adastra is seeking a Senior Snowflake/DBT Data Engineer to join a fully remote, India-based team on a contract basis. The role demands hands-on expertise with Snowflake, dbt, SQL and Python to deliver analytics-ready data and robust ELT pipelines.

You will design and optimize end-to-end data flows, implement performance tuning, develop CI/CD for dbt/Snowflake, mentor juniors, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to model data that supports analytics across diverse client projects.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data engineering with Snowflake and dbt.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Experience with ELT tools like Fivetran.
• Hands-on with data warehousing concepts and Data Vault 2.0.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain ELT pipelines using Fivetran, dbt, and Snowflake.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries and dbt models.
• Tune Snowflake performance with clustering and resource monitors.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to model data.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines for dbt and Snowflake deployments.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term fixes.
