Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own the governed transformation layer from end to end. You will design Snowflake transformations, migrate legacy SQL views to versioned dbt models with lineage, and define conformed dimensions to unify multi-ERP environments. The role emphasizes ci/cd standards and hands-on dbt, SQL, and Python work.

The position is full-time and remote, offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits. Applicants must be willing to work on a W2 basis.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data or analytics engineering.
• 4+ years on a cloud data warehouse, preferably Snowflake.
• 3+ years of production dbt experience.
• Hands-on Kimball dimensional modeling with star schemas and SCD Type 1/2.
• Experience with ERP data sources (Oracle, SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, MS Dynamics).
• Strong written communication and ability to work in fast-paced multi-ERP environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the Snowflake transformation layer from raw to staging to conformed to marts.
• Migrate existing SQL views to versioned, tested dbt models with full lineage.
• Define conformed dimensions and operational facts across multi-ERP environments using Kimball principles.
• Set standards for modeling, testing, naming, documentation, CI/CD, and code reviews.
• Partner with report owners to validate semantic equivalence and minimize BI cutover disruption.
• Define and own the semantic layer across Snowflake, dbt, and Power BI.
