Job summary

Eliassen Group is hiring a Senior Data Engineer for a remote US-based role. You will own the governed transformation layer end-to-end, building Snowflake layers, migrating legacy views to versioned dbt models, and defining conformed dimensions to unify multi-ERP environments.

The role involves hands-on work with dbt, SQL, and Python, setting standards for modeling, testing, and CI/CD, and collaborating with AI/analytics teams to support agentic workloads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Equivalent professional experience considered.
• 7+ years in data or analytics engineering.
• 4+ years on a cloud data warehouse, preferably Snowflake.
• Expert SQL including window functions and incremental loads.
• 3+ years of production dbt experience with macros and tests.
• Kimball dimensional modeling experience.
• Proficient Python for data tooling.
• Experience with ERP data (Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics).

Responsibilities

• Design Snowflake transformation layer from raw to staging to conformed to marts.
• Migrate SQL views to versioned, tested dbt models with full lineage.
• Define conformed dimensions and operational facts across multi-ERP environments.
• Set standards for modeling, testing, naming, documentation, CI/CD, and release management.
• Partner with report owners to validate semantic equivalence during BI cutovers.
• Define and own the semantic layer across Snowflake, dbt, and Power BI.
• Implement data quality testing, observability, and lineage with dbt tests.
• Design models for AI/ML and agent readiness with stable keys and metadata.
• Collaborate with AI/analytics teams on feature-table patterns and data foundations.
