Job summary

DoorDash is seeking a Senior Security Engineer, Proactive Security - Platform to design, build, and harden access management and secret storage services across DoorDash’s global infrastructure.

You will develop self-service tooling, Terraform modules, and integrations to enable just-in-time access, short-lived credentials, and dynamic secrets, while driving security improvements across Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a Security, Infrastructure or Platform Engineer at an internet scale organization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Security Engineering, a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Strong software engineering skills in one or more object oriented languages (e.g. Go, Java, Kotlin).
• Hands-on experience with access management and secret storage systems (PAM, secrets management, key management).
• Knowledge of identity and authentication standards (OIDC, SAML, mTLS, SPIFFE).
• Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform or IaC, and cloud IAM (AWS/GCP).
• Experience with threat modeling and security design reviews; root cause analysis of incidents.
• On-call practices for highly available services.
• Excellent problem solving and cross-team communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and harden paved paths for privileged access, secrets management and identity across platforms.
• Threat model, security review and test tier-0 services and drive remediation.
• Build self-service tooling, SDKs, Terraform modules and integrations for just-in-time access and dynamic secrets.
• Drive migrations off long-lived credentials and standing access at the platform level.
• Partner with infra, compute, data and product teams to integrate security paths into Kubernetes, CI/CD, AWS and GCP environments.
• Participate in follow-the-sun on-call rotation for tier-0 services and improve observability, runbooks and incident response.
• Support secure adoption of AI tooling and agents through access control and secrets brokering.
