Job summary

BKF is seeking a Senior Regulatory Specialist and Project Manager to support our growing environmental practice across California. The role blends permitting expertise with senior project oversight, offering remote or hybrid work between a California office and home.

The ideal candidate will lead regulatory paths, manage budgets, and strengthen client relationships, with potential to serve as project biologist or wetland delineation expert.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science from an accredited college.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years in progressive leadership roles overseeing cultural resource professionals.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Valid California Class C driver's license with clean record.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Support environmental permitting and regulatory compliance for California projects.
• Assist with budgets, task descriptions, and client interactions.
• Participate in business development and contract securing.
• Coordinate with BKF divisions on multi-disciplinary pursuits.
• Ensure timely deliverables and budget management.
• Potentially serve as project biologist or wetland delineation expert.
