Job summary
Taxwell is seeking a Security Engineer to design, implement, and govern data-protection and compliance across Microsoft Purview within a large enterprise environment. You will collaborate with Security, Privacy, Legal, GRC, IT, cloud, and application teams to translate regulatory requirements into practical controls.
Remote position available in the United States, focusing on IRS §7216 compliance and safeguarding tax-return information.
Qualifications
- Five or more years in security engineering or related field.
- Experience deploying Purview in an enterprise environment.
- Knowledge of compliance, privacy, and data governance.
- Experience with data protection and eDiscovery concepts.
- Ability to translate requirements into technical controls.
Responsibilities
- Lead Purview and data-protection projects from design to deployment.
- Configure Purview integrations with M365, Entra ID, and Azure.
- Design data-classification, labeling, encryption, and DLP policies.
- Develop automated classifiers for sensitive taxpayer information.
- Maintain DLP across Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams.
- Administer Purview roles, permissions, and access control.
- Test and tune policies; monitor policy deployment and health.
- Create automation with PowerShell and Python for governance tasks.
- Provide training and documentation for admins and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Security, Legal, Privacy, and GRC teams.
