Job summary

Taxwell seeks a skilled security engineer to lead Purview-based data protection and compliance initiatives within the Microsoft 365/Azure ecosystem. You will design controls for data classification, encryption, DLP, and lifecycle management, working with Legal, Privacy, and IT teams.

The role emphasizes governance, policy automation, and secure handling of tax-related information, with a remote-friendly arrangement for U.S. candidates.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in security engineering, data security, data governance, or related field.
• Hands-on experience deploying and administering Microsoft Purview in an enterprise environment.
• Experience with Purview Information Protection, sensitivity labels, DLP, Data Lifecycle Management, Records Management, Audit, and eDiscovery.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID roles, permissions, groups, identities, and access controls.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, project-management, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Purview and data-protection projects from requirements gathering to deployment.
• Configure and maintain Purview integrations with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, and other platforms.
• Design and implement data-classification, sensitivity-labeling, encryption, and DLP policies.
• Develop automated classifiers for taxpayer and sensitive information.
• Support eDiscovery workflows including preservation, holds, collections, and coordination with Legal.
