Job summary

Arbor Research Collaborative for Health is seeking a senior project manager to lead complex, multi‑funded health research projects. You will develop plans, monitor budgets, manage milestones, and coordinate with program leaders to ensure timely, high‑quality outputs.

You will oversee staff across functions, engage with clients and funders, and contribute to PMO standards and processes. Remote work is supported with national scope and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field with ten years of progressive project management experience.
• PMP certification or equivalent.
• Experience managing large teams toward complex goals.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills.
• Strong supervisory and mentoring skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
• Health services or public health research background.
• Non-profit experience (preferred).
• Experience managing government grants and contracts for research (preferred).
• Understanding of biostatistical, programming, and clinical issues in health care research (preferred).
• Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (preferred).
• Proficiency with project management software (preferred).
• Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain project work plans and resource estimates.
• Monitor milestone achievement and budget/resource use.
• Review and re-estimate work plans based on contingencies.
• Prepare project cost estimates and budgets; forecast quarterly.
• Coordinate with proposal staff on estimates after award.
• Manage expenditures per budgets and fiscal year.
• Negotiate resources with managers to meet objectives and timelines.
• Supervise project staff, ensuring quality of deliverables.
• Provide monthly progress and budget reports to stakeholders.
• Lead development of PMO standards and tools.
• Serve as proposal Project Manager during bids when needed.
• Mentor Project Coordinator(s) and Project Associate(s).
• Oversee multiple projects across programs and funding sources.
