Job summary

RK&K seeks a Senior Project Engineer to plan, design and deliver transportation projects using ORD and diverse delivery methods. You will collaborate with engineers and PMs on Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3, and other projects, producing roadway designs and technical reports.

Remote work is possible with a preference for a hybrid setup based near Fairfax, VA, and travel may be required. Strong mentoring and cross-office teamwork are expected while ensuring quality and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of transportation infrastructure design experience.
• Active PE license in VA or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Proficient in ORD for roadway design and modeling.
• Highly organized with strong written and spoken communication.
• Familiarity with DOT standards and procedures across states.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support design on highways, interchanges, tollways and transit corridors.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across offices.
• Serve as liaison between internal teams, clients, and contractors.
• Prepare plans, specs, estimates and design reports using ORD.
• Support proposals, design-build pursuits, and technical presentations.
• Mentor junior engineers and support career development.
• Ensure QC and compliance with standards and client requirements.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and delivery methods.
