Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead planning, design, and delivery of transportation projects across multiple delivery methods. You will collaborate with engineers and PMs to prepare roadway design plans using OpenRoads Designer and contribute to reports, modeling, and plan production.

Fully remote options are available, with a preference for a hybrid arrangement based in Fairfax, VA. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
8+ years of transportation infrastructure design experience.
PE license in VA or ability to obtain within 6 months; ORD proficiency; knowledge of DOT standards.

Responsibilities

Lead or support technical design on alternative delivery projects (highways, interchanges, tollways, transit corridors).
Collaborate with cross-office teams to develop cost-effective design solutions.
Serve as liaison between internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
Develop plans, specs, cost estimates, and design reports using ORD.
Participate in proposals, design-build pursuits, and technical presentations.
Mentor junior engineers and support career development.
Ensure quality control and compliance with standards and client requirements.
Stay informed about industry trends and new delivery methods.
