Job summary

Buro Happold is seeking a commercially minded Senior Project Controls Manager to join our US Project Operations team. This role can be remote within the United States with hybrid flexibility, preferably near EST office locations.

You will partner with leadership to improve project financial performance, forecasting accuracy, and governance, leveraging Deltek Vantagepoint, Excel, and Power BI. Expect leadership across project reviews, data quality, dashboards, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in project controls, project finance, or related roles.
• Experience in architecture/engineering/design or project services.
• Deep Deltek Vantagepoint knowledge for setup, forecasting and invoicing.
• Strong financial analysis and forecasting skills.
• Advanced Excel and Power BI skills.
• Experience leading process improvement and change management initiatives.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Certifications (PMP/PMI-SP/CCP/CPA/CMA) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review project financial performance with Project Directors and Leaders to identify risks and opportunities.
• Lead portfolio reviews focused on profitability, forecasting, invoicing, debt management, and risk.
• Analyze variances, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Serve as Deltek Vantagepoint SME for setup, planning, billing, reporting, and workflows.
• Improve data quality, reporting consistency, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Develop dashboards and reports using Deltek Vantagepoint, Excel, and Power BI.
• Support proactive decision making with forecasting, risk management, and resource planning.
• Coach teams on forecasting and financial planning and use of project systems.
• Lead process improvement initiatives including workflow analysis and adoption of automation.
