Job summary

Albany Medical College seeks a Senior Professional Coder to lead our professional coding team. You will review CPT/ICD-10 codes, assure CMS compliance, and educate providers and staff. This remote role includes onsite education as needed and coordination with the coding workflow across departments.

You should have extensive professional fee coding experience, multiple coding certifications, and strong communication and LEAN skills to drive quality and productivity in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Two years or more prior experience in professional fee coding.
• Knowledge of multiple coding specialties.
• Working knowledge with provider professional fee coding and charge processing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and validate CPT and ICD-10 codes and charges for compliance.
• Ensure productivity and quality standards are met.
• Lead coding team activities and supervise staff in absence of supervisor.
• Define and submit coding rules to streamline accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist in testing, implementation, and maintenance of third‑party vendor apps.
• Provide education and training to providers and coding staff.
• Participate in audits, denials management, and educational follow‑ups.
