Job summary

Humana, Inc. is seeking a Senior Product Owner to prioritize the development team’s work, define user stories, and maximize value delivered through product outcomes.

This role collaborates with the Product Manager to align backlog with the strategic roadmap and releases. You will translate business needs into clear requirements, manage risks, and ensure product quality across multiple agile delivery teams while communicating value of sprint outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience representing business or technology in technology implementations and/or product/project management experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, meeting facilitation, negotiation, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail oriented with excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Critical thinker who can anticipate team needs and take initiative to present ideas, ask the right questions and deliver the highest quality work.
• Problem solver who can find viable solutions that meets business needs, absent from all ideal tools and resources.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with concurrent deadlines.
• Self-starter who can work independently.

Responsibilities

• Interact day-to-day with the development team and the scrum master.
• Partner with the Product Manager to define and prioritize product backlog based on the strategic product vision/roadmap and releases.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand end-user needs and pain-points to shape requirements.
• Translate business priorities to technical team by documenting user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Proactive risk management to identify, assess and mitigate risks to delivery.
• Confirm product quality and validate it meets customer needs based on acceptance criteria.
• Demonstrate and communicate value of product functionality and sprint outcomes; support multiple teams.
• Cultivate relationships between business and IT to enable high-value product development.
