Job summary

GM Energy is seeking a Software Product Manager, Residential Energy to define and execute the software portfolio for GM Energy’s grid services. You will partner with Product, Engineering and business stakeholders to scale program enrollment, managed charging, interoperability, and backend integrations for utility programs.

The role requires familiarity with IEEE 2030.5, OpenADR and residential grid service models, and you will work cross-functionally with marketing, sales, CRM and program

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in product management or related field.
• Experience cross-functionally with engineering, design, and business stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Agile product development.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and execute in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Customer-first mindset and strong product judgment.

Responsibilities

• Define and articulate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for software products within the utility and energy markets.
• Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, and business teams using Agile and Waterfall methodologies to translate product requirements into detailed specifications and user stories.
• Lead the entire product lifecycle from concept to launch and post-launch optimization, ensuring successful product delivery and adoption.
• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of commercial aspects of the energy industry, including regulatory frameworks, utility operations, and energy market dynamics.
