Placements24 is seeking a Senior Power Systems Protection Engineer for a fully remote position in the United States. You will design and implement protective relaying schemes for high-voltage networks, perform fault analysis, and ensure grid reliability from a home office.

The ideal candidate brings 7+ years of experience, deep protection knowledge, and strong communication skills for remote collaboration. PE license is desirable and you will mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with power systems focus.
• 7+ years in power system protection engineering.
• Knowledge of symmetric components, fault calculations, and protection principles.
• Experience with ASPEN, ETAP, and FaultFlow.
• PE license desirable.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and test protective relaying schemes for substations.
• Perform fault analysis and study disturbances on the power system.
• Specify protective relays, communication equipment, and hardware.
• Develop protection settings and logic for equipment.
• Review and approve protection designs.
• Collaborate with operations, planning, and commissioning teams.
• Stay current with industry standards and evolving protection technologies.
• Conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and prepare technical reports.
