Job summary

SMG is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design, support and improve the core infrastructure that keeps our platform reliable, secure, performant and recoverable. You will work across cloud, network, identity, messaging, virtualization, and security environments to resolve incidents, automate repeatable work, and strengthen engineering practices.

You’ll drive platform reliability and cost efficiency, lead complex incident responses, and mentor teams while collaborating with IT and security

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, network engineering.
• Experience designing, operating, and improving cloud and hybrid infrastructure platforms in enterprise or SaaS environments.
• Advanced knowledge of networking protocols and enterprise networking/security practices across data center and cloud environments.
• Proficiency with virtualization technologies; automation and scripting using PowerShell, Bash, Python; and monitoring, performance analysis, and troubleshooting of distributed infrastructure systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate responses to complex infrastructure incidents across cloud, identity, networking, security, and cloud environments.
• Provide senior-level technical guidance and escalation support across platforms to improve issue resolution and team effectiveness.
• Optimize the performance, reliability, and cost efficiency of cloud services and on-premises infrastructure.
• Collaborate with security and IT partners to strengthen disaster recovery, backup, and recoverability practices.
• Administer and improve enterprise network and security technologies to enable secure and resilient connectivity.
• Automate repeatable administration and operational tasks to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Lead or support migrations to cloud environments with minimal disruption to service continuity.
• Advance engineering enablement and site reliability by building reusable platform capabilities and improving observability.
