Job summary

Simplify Compliance is seeking a remote Senior Software Engineer (PHP) to maintain, improve, and extend our EHS compliance platform. You will work with product and engineering teammates to keep the system reliable and continuously improving, delivering clean, maintainable code while raising the overall quality bar.

The role demands hands-on work in a mature codebase, strong PHP expertise, and collaboration across teams to ship feature-rich solutions that integrate with REST APIs and MySQL data

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with strong PHP expertise.
• Experience maintaining large PHP web applications, including legacy systems.
• Solid MySQL skills with query optimization and database design.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, improve and extend the established PHP platform (BasicSafe).
• Design, build, and ship new features across the stack.
• Write clean, well-structured, maintainable code and modernize the codebase gradually.
• Develop and consume REST APIs and integrations between components and services.
• Collaborate with product managers, QA, and engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold coding standards.
