Job summary

Simplify Compliance, LLC is seeking a remote Senior Software Engineer (PHP) to maintain, improve and extend our established EHS compliance platform. You will work with product and engineering teammates to keep the platform reliable and continuously improving.

This role is for an engineer who works well in an existing codebase, writes clean PHP, and collaborates across teams to raise the quality bar while delivering scalable REST APIs and data integrations.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining and enhancing large PHP web applications, including legacy systems.
• Strong MySQL skills with query optimization and database design.
• Proficiency in Javascript and modern frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance the BasicSafe application.
• Design, build, and ship new features across the stack.
• Write clean, well-structured, maintainable code.
• Contribute to modernizing the codebase.
• Develop and consume REST APIs and integrations.
• Write and optimize MySQL queries and schema changes.
• Collaborate with product managers, QA, and engineers to translate requirements into solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and improve team practices and documentation.
