Intuit, Inc. is seeking a Staff Payroll Tax Processor to serve as a senior payroll tax expert and SME on a team handling notices, corrections, and amendments. The role blends technical leadership with hands-on resolution of complex state and federal payroll tax issues across multiple states.

The ideal candidate will coach junior staff, own the most challenging cases, and drive process improvements while ensuring accurate, timely responses and compliance with tax regulations.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with focus on tax defect resolution across multiple states.
• Expert knowledge of state and federal payroll tax notices and amended return processes.
• Experience preparing amended Federal (Form 941-X) and state payroll tax returns across multiple states.
• Strong knowledge of FICA, FUTA, FITW and related payroll tax regulations.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex state and federal payroll tax notices end-to-end from intake to closure.
• Prepare and file amended federal and state payroll tax returns (Form 941-X, W-2c).
• Diagnose payroll tax errors spanning multiple pay periods and jurisdictions; drive corrections.
• Maintain high productivity in resolving correction, amendment, and notice requests.
• Coach, train, and support junior staff; share knowledge to build team capability.
