Job summary

Intuit is seeking a Senior Payroll Tax Processor to resolve complex state and federal payroll tax notices, prepare amended returns, and correct payroll errors across multiple jurisdictions. You will mentor peers while handling a high-volume caseload in a flexible, virtual team environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of hands-on payroll tax experience with focus on notice resolution, amended returns, and payroll error correction across multiple states.
• Working knowledge of IRS and state agency notices; read and determine resolution path.

Responsibilities

• Execute full-cycle payroll tax case work for assigned accounts, audit payroll output, and manage filings andPayments.
• Independently resolve complex state and federal notices, ownership from intake to closure.
• Prepare agency responses with documentation and submit by deadlines.
• Prepare amended payroll tax returns (Form 941-X and state equivalents) for complex amendments.
• Support correction workflows: identify source of error, quantify tax impact, document audit trail.
• Maintain prioritized WIP queue and meet SLA, documenting cases thoroughly.
• Perform trend analysis to identify process or system deficiencies.
• Contribute to SOP/KB updates and cross-functional collaboration.
