Job summary

WPS Health Solutions seeks a Senior Overpayment Recovery Specialist to support the Recovery Team with direction, workflow, and complex issue resolution. You will mentor staff, assist in audits, and help ensure regulatory compliance across processes.

The role involves training, report preparation, and coordination of activities. Remote work is available in approved states; base salary starts at $24.00/hr, with growth based on experience.

Qualifications

• Two or more years Medicare Financial/Overpayment Recovery experience or equivalent
• Knowledge of Overpayment Recovery Regulations and procedures
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for mentoring staff and documenting procedures
• Ability to train new employees and support team development
• Experience with internal/external audit procedures and documentation

Responsibilities

• Assist supervisor with workload monitoring, analysis, and escalation of department tasks
• Mentor and train new employees; support process training
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operations reports including Recovery Audit activities
• Interpret regulations and revise work instructions and manuals
• Research and respond to complex Overpayment Recovery or financial cases
• Perform audits/quality reviews of unit work
• Participate in internal and external audits (OMB-A123, SSAE-16, ISO)
• Ensure process consistency and test system changes; report issues
• Provide backup to related roles and support cross-functional teams
• Adhere to Federal Privacy Act, HIPAA, and confidentiality requirements
• Other duties as assigned
