Job summary

Food & Water Watch is seeking a Remote Senior Organizer to join our Organizing team and support our Volunteer Network. The Senior Organizer will develop volunteer leaders for priority campaigns, including stopping the buildout of AI data centers, and will work with national, state, and local teams to recruit and onboard volunteers.

This is a full-time, primarily remote position with occasional office requirements.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of full-time organizing experience.
• Ability to develop effective organizing strategies.
• Commitment to Food & Water Watch’s core values of justice, human dignity, fair treatment, and equity.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work remotely using basic online tools (email, Slack, Google docs).
• Ability to balance multiple campaigns and targets simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Build the Food & Water Volunteer Network, including planning and executing public events to educate and engage volunteers; develop leadership and train volunteers.
• Train and support volunteers to take action to hold decision makers accountable on water, food, and climate issues.
• Develop trainings for volunteers and staff and conduct tactical trainings as part of the volunteer program.
• Coordinate with Communications to draft content to engage supporters and recruit volunteers.
• Coordinate with Policy staff on volunteer engagement on national priority campaigns.
• May speak at public events and represent Food & Water Watch to the public and media.
• Maintain familiarity with FWW’s digital organizing tools and respond to inquiries from activists and coalition members.
