Job summary

Shippabo is seeking a hunter with an active importer contact book to source and close new accounts in ocean freight forwarding. You will own the end-to-end cycle from first conversation through booking and onboarding, relying on a disciplined process and data-driven insights.

You’ll collaborate with pricing, contracts, and operations to deliver competitive proposals, forecasts, and a smooth handoff to account management while staying informed on market trends and regulatory changes.

Qualifications

• A track record of closing new business in ocean freight forwarding, NVOCC, or 3PL sales.
• An active book of importer contacts you can begin working immediately.
• Real ocean freight knowledge to discuss lanes, transit times, and landed cost.
• Disciplined, defined process with a qualified pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Source and close new importer accounts.
• Build pipeline from relationships, targeted outbound, referrals, and industry channels.
• Own the full cycle from first conversation through signed agreement and first booking.
• Run a disciplined sales process with defined criteria and clear next steps.
• Move deals through defined stages with a mutual timeline.
• Sell against incumbents by identifying gaps like visibility, pricing, or origin support.
• Collaborate with pricing and supply teams to structure profitable proposals.
• Forecast accurately with volumes by account and lane.
• Hand off closed accounts to account management and operations with necessary context.
• Stay current on market movements and regulatory shifts.
