Stand Together seeks a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Middleware & Integrations to lead architecture and delivery of scalable, AWS-based web applications. The role blends hands-on development with architectural oversight, mentoring engineers and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of software engineering experience including architecture.
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and cross-functional partnership skills.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and PHP.
• Strong Node.js backend experience—preferably NestJS.
• Experience designing and consuming APIs and microservices architectures.
• Experience with JWT/OIDC authentication (Auth0 or equivalent).
• Proven experience with relational and NoSQL databases; hands-on MongoDB preferred.
• Docker and container orchestration on AWS (ECS).
• IaC experience with Terraform and Terragrunt.
• CI/CD with GitHub Actions and GitHub OIDC for AWS deployments.
• Observability and production troubleshooting.
• Security best practices (least privilege, private S3, secrets management).
• Testing/quality: unit/integration, e2e, linting/formatting.
• Experience integrating headless CMS platforms with modern front-end frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to architecture, design, and technical decisions for Node.js backends and AWS infrastructure.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure APIs.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment, monitoring, and reliability.
• Ensure security and governance best practices within AWS.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards and scalable design patterns.
• Provide mentorship and performance guidance to engineers.
• Collaborate with product, design, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
