Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Senior Billing professional for American Health Network (AHN), a nationwide remote role. You will support physician billing, patient accounts, and third‑party collections while ensuring timely denials resolution and accurate documentation.

The role requires 3+ years in health care billing, proficiency with ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and experience interacting with major payers. Training is provided; occasional overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• 18 years of age or older.
• 3+ years in health care billing/collections or similar setting.
• 3+ years with ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS codes.
• Experience researching and resolving complex insurance receivables and denials.

Responsibilities

• Manage a large inventory of insurance receivables, including aging and denied claims.
• Research history, eligibility, benefits, coding, authorization, and payer requirements.
• Refile corrected claims, submit appeals, and follow up to final resolution.
• Analyze EOBs, remittance data, and patient account activity.
• Initiate contact with payers, patients, and internal partners to resolve issues.
• Provide guidance to billing team and share payer requirements.
