Job summary

The position requires 3+ years in healthcare billing, experience with ICD-10-CM/CPT/HCPCS, and strong analytical and communication skills. Shifts align with 8:00 am–4:30 pm EST, with occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• 3+ years of current experience in a health care billing and collections environment or equivalent health care setting.
• 3+ years of experience using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• 3+ years of experience researching and resolving complex insurance receivables, denials, and aging accounts.
• 3+ years of experience with major third-party payers, payer websites, and timely filing rules.
• 3+ years of experience interpreting EOBs, remittance information, and patient account activity.
• Proficiency with basic PC applications, internet research, and health care billing systems.
• Flexibility to work full time within 8:00 am - 4:30 pm EST shifts; possible overtime.

Responsibilities

• Manage a large inventory of aging physician billing accounts.
• Research account history, eligibility, benefits, coding, authorization, and payer requirements.
• Refiles and appeals claims; submit supporting documentation and follow up to resolution.
• Analyze and reconcile EOBs, remittance activity, and payer communications.
• Contact payers, patients, and internal partners to resolve issues within authority.
• Explain patient financial liability and processing of payments and plans.
• Ensure accuracy of account notes and documentation in billing systems and EHR.
• Support onboarding and knowledge sharing on payer websites and workflows.
• Identify recurring denial or workflow trends and recommend process improvements.
