Job summary

American Health Network (AHN), part of the Optum family, seeks a Senior Biller to support physician billing and aging third-party receivables. This national remote role requires researching complex accounts, submitting appeals, and ensuring accurate documentation in the EHR and billing systems.

You will refiles, reconcile, and communicate with payers while aligning with payer requirements and denial trends.

Qualifications

High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience.
3+ years in health care billing and collections or related setting.
Experience with ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS coding.
Experience researching and resolving complex insurance receivables and denials.
Experience with major third-party payers, payer websites, and timely filing rules.

Responsibilities

Manage a large inventory of insurance receivables, including aging accounts and denials.
Research account history, eligibility, benefits, coding, authorization and payer requirements to determine resolution.
Refiles and submits corrected claims, prepares appeals and follows up to final resolution.
Analyze EOBs, remittance data, payer correspondence and patient statements to reconcile accounts.
Contact payers, patients and internal partners to coordinate resolutions within approved authority.
