Job summary

Central Moloney is seeking a seasoned design engineer to join its transformer team in a remote-capable role within the United States. You will design, develop, and review mechanical specifications for distribution transformers using CAD/FEA tools, while collaborating with manufacturing and quality teams to improve products.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and 7+ years of transformer design experience, with knowledge of ANSI/IEEE/CSA standards and hands-on

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in design engineering of electrical distribution equipment, transformer env.
• Proficiency with CAD/FEA tools and ERP software.
• Familiarity with ANSI, ASTM, IEEE and CSA standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and review mechanical specifications for distribution transformers.
• Develop mechanical designs for tanks, core-coil frames, cooling and handling features.
• Perform mechanical calculations for short circuit, thermal and tolerance analyses.
• Verify bushing locations, terminal clearances and layouts.
• Use CAD tools to create models and manufacturing drawings.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, test and quality teams to resolve issues.
