Job summary

RemoteJobsOne is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for a fully remote contractor role. You will analyze complex CAD assemblies, contribute to AI training data, and ensure high-quality design reasoning for challenging manufacturing problems.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in multi-part assemblies and mastery of major CAD tools. Strong English communication and mentoring experience are required. This is a remote role open to candidates in many countries.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in creating and overseeing multi-part mechanical assemblies.
• Mastery in at least one major parametric CAD tool.
• Experience in teaching, mentoring, or leading design teams.
• Expertise in design intent, assembly reasoning, mechanism and GD&T tolerance.
• Excellent written English communication in technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex CAD assemblies to identify critical decisions and constraints.
• Formulate challenging technical questions to test real-world judgment.
• Validate answers directly from CAD models with traceability.
• Review AI-generated outputs for mechanical reasoning accuracy.
• Flag ambiguous or unanswerable questions and refine them.
• Document edge cases and sources of disagreement for verifiability.
• Communicate findings clearly to support project improvements.
