Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Co. is seeking a Senior Manager, Retail Operations to lead the national retail strategy and execution, strengthening partnerships with Acosta and other retailers. You will oversee governance, on-shelf availability, and data-driven decision-making across Sales, Procurement, Finance, and category teams.

Remote role based in the United States with ~50% travel, focusing on improving retail coverage, ROI, and cross-functional execution aligned to company priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 10+ years in CPG, retail operations, sales strategy or related roles.
• Experience directing a national retail agency or broker partner.
• Knowledge of retail management, broker operations, and on-shelf availability.
• Ability to translate customer, syndicated and store data into priorities and actions.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen focused on ROI.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives across Sales, Procurement, Finance, and analytics.
• Strong communication and influencing skills; capable of senior-level accountability.
• Ability to lead through ambiguity with sound planning and governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead national retail strategy and execution with broker model.
• Set strategy across selling, merchandising, distribution correction, promotions, and displays.
• Prioritize resources based on needs, store productivity, and expected return.
• Develop governance with Acosta and other retail partners.
• Advance data-led execution using Circana insights and on-shelf reporting.
• Drive planning discipline and cross-functional communication.
• Manage display, freight, and retail investment governance.
• Lead cross-functional problem solving and SOP development.
