Job summary

Centene Corporation seeks an experienced leader to manage a team delivering complex enterprise software solutions for the healthcare domain. The role requires coordinating design, development, testing, and deployment across cross-functional partners and vendors.

You will guide scope, schedule, and budgets, drive agile practices, and mentor developers while ensuring security and policy compliance. A remote US-based position with quarterly travel is involved, with competitive benefits and growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of related experience with prior management.
• Experience with Application Development and Applications Architecture; DevOps best practices.
• Knowledge of Agile Software Development.
• Hands-on with databases and data governance; knowledge of graph databases.
• Healthcare payer/provider operations or provider data management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees a team of Senior Application Development Engineers on large-scale complex applications development projects.
• Leads efforts around project scope, schedule, and budget with close monitoring and communication of progress and commitments.
• Makes decisions based on reported application progress and outcomes.
• Establishes training and career development planning for Application Developers.
• Oversees 3rd party development teams and vendors, ensuring adherence to standards, policies, and performance.
• Defines processes to identify and evaluate risks and participates in mitigation and control activities.
• Communicates with Application and Infrastructure Management during service transition.
• Partners with Security and SRE teams to ensure security and change management policies are followed.
• Leads design and development of proof of concept and prototype application environments.
• Manages hiring and training of staff, conducts performance/salary reviews, and provides leadership and coaching to Developers.
• Establishes operational objectives and delegates tasks to ensure stable operation of application development activities.
• Provides expert knowledge to strengthen staff capabilities and understand IT implications.
• Holds teams accountable to meet functional, quality, and timeline objectives.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
